The Callis Educational Fund

was established on May 11, 2005, as an Illinois Not for Profit Corporation for the purpose of the operation of a scholarship program to benefit students who are candidates for degrees at educational organizations.

The operation of the scholarship program furthers the educational purpose of the Fund by assisting students in the educational studies in institutions of higher learning. The Callis Educational Fund will also make available genealogical information to state historical societies, libraries, colleges and universities and other organizations.

The Callis Educational Fund is the successor corporation to the Callis Family Scholarship Fund, Inc., which was incorporated in 1991 by Helena Callis McGinnis (1912 – 2001) and to which she served as President until her death in 2001. At that time the Scholarship Fund, Inc. was maintained, but no scholarships awarded, until the Estate of Helena Callis McGinnis and the status of the Fund could be disentangled.
